Summary:  Overall rating of 4.0 stars. Sandy’s is a must stop on your way to the coast in the province of Puntarenas. It’s located right on highway 1 just past the exit for Puntarenas coming from the Central Valley area. The atmosphere is great with an outdoor dining feel under the bodega. The menu is mostly seafood with a wide variety of entrees. (Don’t fret my vegan/veggie peeps they got us covered). The fish is fresh and the entrees are abundant with flavor but not too much to overpower the fish. The portions are supersized so come hungry and bring a friend. I highly recommend starting out with appetizers – Plantos con Frioles (fried plantain chips with black bean dip). Hands down, Sandy makes the best in all of Costa Rica.

This is our second visit. We will definitely be heading back on a weekend to enjoy their wonderful desayuno (breakfast).
